My passion for creating and producing musical freestyles began with my own experience competing in one. The thrill of riding to music that was uniquely mine — executing choreography I had designed, in harmony with my horse, in front of the judges — was unforgettable. From that moment, I was hooked.
At my core, I am a musician. I began playing the violin at a very young age and went on to perform professionally in orchestras and chamber ensembles, as well as teaching violin to students of all ages. My musical training, grounded in theory and performance through my college years, has deeply shaped how I approach freestyle design today. It has given me the ear and intuition to select music that not only matches a horse’s movement but also evokes emotion and tells a story.
Since launching my freestyle design business, I have had the privilege of working with riders across the United States and even as far as South Africa. These partnerships represent an incredible variety — not only in the people themselves, but in the horses they ride. My clients range from first-time freestyle riders to seasoned professionals, and I’ve designed freestyles for an equally diverse array of breeds, from Thoroughbreds and Quarter Horses to Lusitanos, Warmbloods, and ponies. Each unique combination of horse and rider presents a new creative challenge: to capture their shared essence through music and movement.
As a rider myself, with freestyle championships at both the regional and national levels, I understand firsthand the needs of my clients and I am extremely responsive and supportive throughout the process. I’m 100% invested in making sure they have everything they need to ride a freestyle that is not only memorable but also scores well with the judges.
I truly enjoy walking alongside my clients throughout the creative journey. I see freestyle design as a deeply collaborative process — one where we brainstorm choreography ideas and possibilities, refine musical concepts, and explore the best ways to express the individuality of each horse-and-rider partnership. Together, we bring a story to life in a way that is both technically strong and artistically inspired.
Ultimately, designing a freestyle is about transformation — taking a technical test and turning it into a dance. My mission is to help riders create performances that not only meet the standards of the sport but also celebrate the joy, artistry, and partnership that come together in the dance.
